There aren’t many holidays that offer total freedom to go where you want. I am going to talk about the freedom you get by hiring a motorhome. But there is more things to consider like, luggage restrictions and all the tedious stuff that goes with flying. The internet has made it simple to b motorhome hire and most companies will be happy to take a booking at very short notice. In recent years, many motorhome hire companies have insisted on a hire duration of one week minimum. Everyone has their favourite places, so maybe you could start by going there, if you find somewhere else you like on the way you may as well stop there too.

Campervans are unbelievably expensive, which is the biggest problem for anyone who fancies owning one. Even people who own motorhomes, don’t use them that often, so you may as well just hire one when you need it. I have only hired a motorhome in the UK, but it is really big business in New Zealand and Australia too. But back here in the northern hemisphere there is still plenty of things happening. Music festivals are a favourite with the younger motorhome hirers. Campervans are often used by bands at festivals for accommodation as well as functioning as a ‘green rooms’. We could probably talk about rain too, rain is never fun, but it is more fun in a dry motorhome than it is in a wet soggy tent.

Quite a few UK based motorhome hire companies build their fleet from existing owners who let the company rent them out when they are not using them. This has advantages and disadvantages. The main advantage is the fact that they can easily have a massive fleet of motorhomes for hire without the actual expense of buying them all. The downside that it is hard to maintain the quality of the vehicles with out continuous access to the vehicles.

Some owners attempt to put their clients on their own private insurance and then rent the motorhome to them. Normal motorhome hire insurance doesn’t cover ‘hire’ as one of the uses, so it is useless. It is of the utmost importance to have proper insurance. You would never drive a hire car that wasn’t properly insured would you?

Even in a cold countries in the dead of winter, you won’t be cold in your motorhome! Virtually every motorhome on the market will have either a gas or diesel heating system. The Chausson Flash 02 is a brilliant example of a motorhome with a diesel heater. You just need to set the temperature on the thermostat and the heating will do the rest. Being cold is no longer an issue in a motorhome, you will always be warm.

Modern efficient insulating materials are used in the construction of motorhomes, which makes it easy to maintain a nice ambient temperature. Even if you are in Southern Italy in July, the air conditioning will keep you cool. Once you are parked up, the double glazed windows will keep you warm in the winter and keep the intense sun out in the summer too.

So are you ready to give campervanning a go? Maybe you should try hiring a motorhome for just a weekend and see how you like it. Don’t worry about the size of the vehicle, you get used to that very quickly. Don’t worry about the time of year either, as we discussed above, staying warm is not a problem anymore. Campervanning is addictive, once you have started doing it, it will be hard to stop. This is a holiday that starts the moment you leave home, not when you get there..

It’s a beautiful image isn’t it – driving into the sunset. It’s actually better to start off in the morning to be honest And with a campervan you can do just that You can forget about sticking to a rigid plan How much freedom do you need? You can have as much as you want. It’s your own personal accommodation and transport.

How nice would it be to own your own campervan that you could use anytime you liked? If you fancied getting away for a weekend you could just finish work on Friday and off you go. A seaside break on the south coast? Why not indeed, you deserve it. But if you don’t own a campervan, you can still sort out hiring one very quickly. Weekend hire as well as long weekend hire is also possible now.

So how many campervans do campervan hire companies actually own? 1000? Hundreds? Ten?, well how about not one! Campervans are a vehicle that everybody would like to have, but only a few can afford. Even those who do get to own one, find they don’t use it as much as they though they would. At this point most owners find a campervan hire company offering a self hire service. By doing this the owner can profit from their campervan when it would be otherwise idle. Owners can always reserve the weeks they want for their own use. Many UK campervan hire companies now use this strategy.

If you are tempted by offers of cheap campervan hire on websites like Gumtree, think very carefully before going ahead. Often they have been put up by respectable campervan hire companies. In this case, go ahead if you are happy, they are just after the extra exposure. If it appears to be an individual offering privately owned campervan hire, please check carefully that their arrangements are properly in order. Too often no proper insurance arrangements have been made! If you are in an accident or are pulled by the police, good luck.

A campervan is the new alpine retreat for skiers and snowboarders. Chilly? They might get cold, but not inside the campervan. All modern campervans have superb central heating systems that is either powered by their gas supply or in some more models such as the Chausson Flash 02, by their diesel heater that actually uses the same fuel as the engine does. The temperature is usually controlled thermostatically which is a set and forget procedure.

The modern campervan is very well insulated and all the windows in the habitation area are double glazed so that it is easy to keep the campervan warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Air conditioning in the cab area is usually fitted too, for extra comfort when driving.

Try a campervan holiday, you won’t regret it. Whether you are thinking about a baking hot slog across to Greece, or maybe see some friends in Normandy or even a rambling visit to The Italian Alps. Do be cautious though, some hire companies are not as good as they could be. Use a company that has a proven track record and good testimonials. I think that is a good plan. Make sure that your campervan hire company has a good breakdown policy, and an english speaking number you can call at any time.
There is a great internet site you can seek the advice of, which will inform you of every thing you need to know regarding motorhome rental. www.motorhomesdirect.co.uk .

If you are a bit of a free spirit you are going to love this. I am going to talk campervans and say all about the freedom you will have etc. But there is more to campervan hire holidays, for example how many holidays do you know where the actual journey is enjoyable? Not many I don’t think. Online, it is simple to reserve a campervan and most companies will be more than happy to do hire at short notice. Most hire companies now offer weekend campervan rental as well as weekly. But this is the great thing, you can now hire one and not have a clue where you want to go, just point it in a direction you fancy and drive.

Most people cannot afford a campervan and sadly that probably includes you! Hiring a campervan is the next best thing and it has advantages over ownership too. Owning a vehicle like this costs money, more so than a car, as insurance, tax and depreciation can soon mount up. It’s really a much better option to rent one, well for most of us anyway.

So how many campervans do campervan hire companies actually own? Lots and lots of them? 100? Twelve?, well how about none of them! We would all love to have a campervan, but most of us can’t afford one. Even people who do get to own their own campervan realise after a while that they are not using it is much as they could. The owners quickly discover the joys of a self hire scheme which is offered by some larger campervan hire companies. The scheme enables the owner to earn money from their campervan in the weeks they are not using it. They always have the facility to block out the weeks that they want to use it themselves. This has become the business model of many top campervan hire companies in the UK.

Some campervan owners are often tempted to try and rent out their campervan when they are not using it, by putting the hirers on their insurance, temporarily.. It is very unusual for normal private campervan insurance to cover people who are in a private hire arrangement, so in almost all cases this insurance is invalid. It goes without saying that it is essential to have the correct insurance to hire out a campervan. You would never drive a hire car that wasn’t properly insured would you?

Campervans are not just for the summer, it’s a perfectly reasonable idea to use them in mid winter. Some winter sports enthusiasts like to use a campervan as their base on their ski holiday. This is actually quite a cool thing to do as quite often when you buy a one week ski pass it will include free days at other ski resorts nearby. Most people never take advantage of this, but if you are in a campervan you certainly can..

A campervan can be as warm or cold as you want it to be. It is just a matter of setting the temperature to what you want and just letting the heating system do the rest. It’s not uncommon for people to come back from skiing holidays where they say it has been -20 Centigrade over night, but they have been perfectly warm in their campervan

You won’t ever feel cold in a campervan. Even cheap models are very well insulated in the habitation area. Most campervans have a gas heater, some have a diesel heater. Diesel heaters use the same fuel as the vehicle’s engine does, which is very convenient.

Some petrol guzzling RVs have been converted to run on LPG. LPG is about half the price of petrol. Since there is now a need for an LPG tank, an additional one can be fitted. LPG from the filling station can now be used for the heating system as well as powering the actual RV.

So are you ready for your first campervan trip? You could just go for a weekend hire and take a break by the seaside. You can use the campervan as a base and then do all your shorter trips by bicycle. As we have said before, staying warm is easy in campervan, so plan your trip any time you like. I’ll put money on the fact that you will be planning your second trip before you get home from your first. Holidays like this begin the moment you turn the ignition key.
There is a wonderful web site you can consult, that will inform you every little thing you need to know about motorhome rent. motorhomesdirect.co.uk .

The first time I cam to Serre Chervalier was by motorhome, it was hired from MotorhomeBusiness.com in the UK.

So is hiring a campervan a good idea? Well…

Driving into a sunset on a warm summer evening is a beautiful image. OK fair enough, but I would advise getting the bulk of your driving done in the morning The fantastic thing about a campervan hire holiday is having the ability to do just that. Never again will you have to stress about finding places to stay and reserving hotels. How much freedom do you need? You can have as much as you want. It’s your own personal accommodation and transport, so whatever you say goes.

Wouldn’t be just fantastic to own your own campervan and just be able to pack up and go away any time you liked? If a week in the sun was what you fancied, you could just get on a ferry and drive to the South of France. A seaside break on the south coast? Why not indeed, you deserve it. But really, hiring a campervan is just as easy, you can call up a hire company on Friday morning and pick it up after work and drop it back on Sunday night (or Monday morning if your boss will let you!) . Most hire companies are very happy to do short hire periods, such as weekends, or long weekends.

Some campervan hire companies in the UK have taken a real advantage of the fact that people do not use their campervans for 52 weeks a year and have built their entire hire fleet around motorhomes that are actually privately owned. This has pros and cons The main advantage is that there is not the massive expenditure in funding a fleet. The disadvantage is that it is very difficult to look after the fleet properly if you only have access to the vehicles when the owner says so.

Well, what do you feel about that so far? #links# is an area that offers a huge amount for those who are interested or need to learn. It is really similar to other related issues that are important to people.

You never really know about any one aspect because there are a lot of varied situations. It is always a good idea to determine what your circumstances call for, and then go from that point. You have a solid base of a few important points, and we will make that much more powerful for you as follows. Be suspicious of anyone who seems the slightest bit shady. Quite often this will be people who have bought their own campervan and realised that it is draining their money as they are not using it most of the time. To combat the bills and depreciation they are looking into ways to make money with their campervan, sometimes illegally. This is because most of the time they do not have adequate insurance to allow them to hire the vehicle for a fee. Everything will be fine until the police want to see your paperwork or you have an accident. You might think of this as a way to get cheap campervan hire, but do you really want to have that worry when you are supposed to be having a relaxing holiday?

We are seeing more and more skiers hiring campervans for their winter holidays. Do they freeze to death? They might get cold, but not inside the campervan. All modern campervans have central heating systems powered by the gas supply or in some more models by their diesel heater. You can just dial in the temperature you want the campervan to be and the thermostatically controlled heating system will do the rest.

The materials used in the construction of a modern campervan are strong and have incredible insulation properties. These materials are used mostly in the ‘living’ part of the campervan, where a lot has been learnt from caravan design. The windows are double glazed which gives them excellent insulation properties that help in climates that are extremely hot as well as ones that are very cold.

Modern campervans do not leak, so forget any stories you might have heard about caravans in the 1980s. Ski holidays are possible thanks to efficient heating systems.

Try a campervan holiday, you won’t regret it. If you want to drive to the Adriatic sea, or pick tulips in Amsterdam or a snowboard visit to Serre Chevalier. Do be cautious though, campervan hire companies come and go all the time. Use a company that has a proven track record and good testimonials. I reckon you will be safe then. Check you know what to do in the event of there being a fault with the motorhome or you suffer a breakdown.
